About FHPM

The Foundation for Homeless and Poverty Management (FHPM), an African American majority-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world grappled with unprecedented challenges, including widespread business closures and stay-at-home orders, the need for community support and resources became increasingly apparent.

Mission

Our mission is to break the cycle of generational homelessness and poverty, with a focus on uplifting Black lives through a two-generational approach. FHPM aims to serve communities as a whole with a focus in the Black, Indigenous, people of Color (BIPOC) community, especially Black Americans. We commit to meeting individuals and families where they are, removing barriers, and addressing the unique challenges our communities face in overcoming trauma, because when Black lives benefit, everyone benefits.

Our vision is a nation where every family has the opportunity to break free from the cycle of generational homelessness and poverty. We strive to create a society where support systems empower individuals and families to overcome barriers, achieve stability, and envision a future filled with hope and possibility. Through our dedicated navigational centers and transitional and permanent housing, we aim to be the catalyst for change so that no one has to face homelessness alone and that every person has the chance to build a brighter future.
